The main difference between a single rib & a joined belt ( multiple rib) is the increased stability a joined belt ( JB) provides, preventing belts from turning over and coming off of the drive. There are many advantages to using this joined belt, including: - Resistance to fatigue & wear - Tolerance to a wide range of ambient temperature - Provides greater lateral stability For special applications, such as Liang Chi Cooling Tower; SPL Joined-Belt Polyflex belts ( i.e. 2/ 11M-1400 SPL & 3/ 11M-1400 SPL) are used.
